My first step is usually a sit down consultation (if possible) with the client to discuss the general design and function of the piece. Some good starting points would be:

- Where is it going to be located?

- What is it being used for?

- What do you want to accomplish with it?

- A great idea is to save pictures from Pinterest and Magazines in a folder of designs, color, style and wood type of anything that catches your eye. Pictures give me a better idea of exactly what you are looking for.

Once a rough design has been agreed upon my second step usually includes a concept sketch of the built in. This process usually takes a week or two and will be presented to the customer. At that time, if approved, I will present a contract outlining all the work involved. When you have approved the contract I will establish a delivery date. My payment terms are 30 percent down to cover materials and the remainder on delivery day.

The building process is a tremendous amount of work as there are many variables and it is not uncommon for me to check in with updates on the piece to make sure it is meeting your expectations. I can usually accommodate this with emails or pictures sent via text.

The finishing process is a long process. (Sometimes it can take as long to finish a piece of furniture as it does to build it.) I usually will make a few samples of color (stain/paint) on the scrap pieces of wood. The color is always different depending on the type of wood and finishing process. The customer can then choose exactly what color they want the final product to be.

The long awaited day! Delivery day! I will work with you to set up a time and day that works best for you. (Depending on the furniture it can be as simple as dropping it off in its final resting location or I will spend the day installing the unit if it is a built in). Final payment is due at this time.
